(April 22, 2014, Lake Charles, LA) The April event for students at Le Chateau was a game night to celebrate the end of testing. Middle school and high school students were invited to the club house for pizza and games. The staff wanted the students to interact with each other so team building and ice breaker games were played instead of board games.
Some of the students were those who participate in the Monday afternoon Homework Help, but others participated for the first time. One of the high school girls was new to the complex. The staff found it exciting when she asked who they were and why they held events, because they were able to explain that we’ve been blessed by Christ and want to pour those blessings into the resident’s at Le Chateau. As an additional benefit, the staff finds it much easier to hold conversations with these students since the game night when we see them around the complex.
