Residents at MOF’s Willow Bend Apartments in Lake Charles, Louisiana, had a busy March!
One event the residents enjoyed was a chili cookout. Adults and children alike got to partake of Mrs. Jennings’ delicious chili on a beautiful day! Then volunteers took chili door to door to share with residents who had not attended the cookout. Many new relationships were established and a sense of community was nurtured!
Later in the month Willow Bend adopted a nursing home to serve! The Grand Cove Nursing Home is right next door to Willow Bend.
Local leadership in MOF’s housing ministry decided to offer a worship service for nursing home residents on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:45 am. Monroe Jennings brings the message, and his wife, Francine, helps lead praise and worship as Elder Butler plays piano. Even one of the workers at the nursing home joined in to praise God!
Although we can’t show pictures of the residents for privacy reasons, they enjoy the blessing of having church brought to them, as many of them are unable to leave the nursing home to attend services elsewhere. Thanks to all who make this blessing possible!
